Floriscount, a dark chestnut stallion just like his grandsire born in 2005 (Forencio / Donnerhall / Walldorf / Tin Rocco / Vollkorn xx.)
He clearly dominated his competitors at his performance test, winning the dressage index with scores up to 10.0 for rideability and his canter.
His debut as a sire in 2010 was a sensation and everyone talked about his strong type foals. All over Germany, they won foal shows and brought top prices at the Verband auctions.
Floriscount qualified for the 2010 Bundeschampionat and placed in numerous elementary (L) level tests for young dressage horses. Starting in 2011 he will be further trained by the Grand Prix trainer, Markus Gribbe. His sire, Florencio I, was the 2004 and 2005 World Champion of young dressage horses and in 2009 he won the coveted VHO Trophy at St. Georges level. The winner of the main premium for stallions with emphasis on dressage in 2004, he has meanwhile sired nearly 40 sons that have been licensed.

The dam, El.St. Arkona, is also the dam of the premium stallion Sandakan (by Sandro Hit) who is stationed at the Swedish National Stud in Flyinge and Floriscount II who received a premium in Mecklenburg in 2009. The dam's sire, Donnerhall, is a legend and represents the perfect synthesis of breeding and sport. According to the statistics of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses, he still ranked second among the world's best dressage sires in 2010. The granddam, St.Pr./El.St. Arwaldis, was the 1991 Oldenburg Reserve Champion Mare.
The pedigree is well shored up with Thoroughbred bloodlines through the Holstein sire Tin Rocco by Tin Rod xx and the legendary Vollkorn xx. Floriscount unites type, size and presence with outstanding rideability and temperament as well as excellent gaits and he passes on all of these traits to his offspring!

From his Owner/Breeder Clemens Graf v. Merveldt we receive news:
"He had six qualification winners last year for the German foal championship at Lienen. At the final he had two colts in the Top 10 (from more than 300). One was finally fourth (see the video clip with his scores for his gaits from three judges two times 10,0 and one 9,5! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kXJz2cEnRs) the other one was eighth. So he was one of the best represented sires at the final all over Germany.
Floriscount had the biggest crop of foals (21) selected for the Hanoverian Elite foal auction last August (one was sold for 24,500 Euro to Switzerland). There were many show winners and auction foals all over Germany, England and whole Europe. His four year old full brother called Florimax was sold last December at the PSI auction for 200.000 Euro (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JFzXOHJ-yI ). We just sold his three year old full brother to a top trainer in Canada!
Floriscount himself is now coming seven years old and is prepared to show at PSG level this year. He starts to be a future Grand Prix star with great potential and tons of talent! Maybe a horse for the German team one day in the future!"
